About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Estimator to join a leading mechanical contracting team. This position plays a critical role in preparing accurate cost estimates for HVAC, sheet metal, and fabrication projects ranging from $1M to $15M. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure competitive and profitable bids.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project specifications, drawings, and requirements to develop accurate cost estimates.
• Prepare detailed proposals and bid packages for mechanical construction projects.
• Analyze labor, material, and equipment costs to ensure competitive pricing.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to validate scope and pricing.
• Maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors for updated pricing and availability.
• Track and manage multiple projects simultaneously (typically 1-3 active projects).
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and client discussions as needed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in mechanical estimating within HVAC, sheet metal, or related fields.
• Strong understanding of fabrication processes and mechanical systems.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Preferred Experience

• Background in commercial or industrial mechanical projects.
• Familiarity with automated controls and integrated systems.
